We have not because we ask not…thank God that is not our story! It is because we have asked that God has always blessed us with volunteer angels. One group of angels we’ve been blessed with for the past eight years is our landscaping crew. Every Monday John Lochner, Fred Appleton and Alex Swails are out on our grounds pruning and working away on our yard. We are so thankful for them and all that they do!
Unfortunately, this group of men (all now in their late 70s) will no longer be able to manage the landscaping duties for Lifeline Family Center. We have nowhere to turn but to God and to our supporters! And you guessed it, we are asking for volunteers who will join a whole new crew of landscaping angels. Our goal is not to burden one person but we would love to create a crew that will come together one morning a week and take over for these very faithful gentlemen. If you or anyone you know would be willing to join this group of volunteer angels, please contact us ASAP 239-242-7238 and ask for Kathy.
Next Volunteer Orientation is:
November 3, 2014
9:00 am-12:00 pm
We have many opportunities for you to be involved directly with Lifeline. We are constantly in need of teachers, mentors, substitute grandmas, office workers, and counselors to help with the care and training of our residents. We provide the training for those positions that require it, but mainly what we need are people to take an interest in these girl’s lives, and show them what it means to be a responsible, caring adult.
You Can Make A Difference
Our volunteers realize that everyone leaves footprints on the sands of time. Our prints are made by the imprints of our lives on others. A person is remembered for the weight of his or her character. For marks of accomplishment. For shapes of kindness. For length of compassion. For width of personal warmth. For generosity. For values.
When we leave positive impressions behind, we enhance the lives of those we touch and a part of us lives on through them. We give them footprints to follow.
Lifeline Volunteers have the opportunity to change the course of America by changing the course of one life. They have the opportunity to contribute their time and life experiences. Our volunteers are truly ANGELS! They call themselves Angels WINGS, Angels WORKING IN GOD’S SERVICE. There is training, monthly informative meetings and an opportunity to participate in a merit system to earn “wings” and “halos” through hours served.
