From Our President

January 2008

Dear Friends,

Blessings to you in 2008!  It is going to be a very good year.  Yes, yes, I know the economic predictions.  Ah, but I also know an all powerful, all knowing God that can raise the hopes and joy of His children beyond what the world predicts.  Look at what He is doing at Lifeline Family Center!

Our theme for 2008 is “Ordinary Miracles.”  Sounds like an oxymoron does it not?  Frank Unger, the gentleman who does a superb job of creating the DVDs that help us tell the Lifeline Family Center story, came up with that theme when he was interviewing our girls for our latest DVD.  Things we often take for granted, when we take a closer look, reveal the magnitude of God’s plan for our girls’ lives.  If anyone would have asked Sierra two and a half years ago if she thought that she would have earned her GED and completed training and state certification in not one, but two career fields, that she would have church membership and be part of a small group for accountability, that she would have a car, $3000.00 in the bank, and be preparing to move next week into her own completely furnished two-bedroom apartment with her little boy, she would have stared at you with a blank expression.  After a lifetime of being bounced around in the foster care system, Sierra finally found a stable home at Lifeline Family Center.  She found a place where she could grow in her relationship with God.  And she found out that God’s purpose for her was to succeed and have a “delightful inheritance.”  By the time you receive this letter Sierra will have formally graduated from Lifeline Family Center and will be on her own…an “Ordinary Miracle…”  Who will be the next “Sierra”…?

The theme for our first year of operation in our new center was, “Walk of Faith.” Moving, training new staff, training ourselves and “old” staff on how to make our ministry to our moms and babies work in the new setting, praying for direction to meet our financial needs…all these were more like climbing a mountain of faith, rather than a faith walk!  True to His word, the Lord brought us through and we are still in awe that we were able to pay all our bills our first year, in spite of being in a year of economic stress. That is due to your love that reflects the heart of God, your kindness and generosity, and your responding to the gentle nudging of the Holy Spirit.  Because you have stood with us in faith, we boldly set out in 2008 expecting to see God at work over and over again…in the lives of our girls and babies, of our staff and volunteers, of our supporters…so be watching! And be expecting your very own “Ordinary Miracle.”

God bless you with peace and prosperity beyond the world’s predictions in 2008!

For life and Truth,

Kathy Miller
President/Executive Director
