Post-Abortion Stress Syndrome (P.A.S.S.)
Researchers describe P.A.S.S. as a woman’s inability to (1) process the fear, anger, sadness and guilt surrounding her abortion, (2) grieve the loss of her baby, and (3) come to peace with God, herself, and others involved in the abortion decision.
Some symptoms are…
- Psychological “numbing”
- Anniversary Syndrome
- Alcohol and drug abuse
On November 6, 2001, the U.S. Senate passed an amendment to an appropriations bill (H.R. 3061, Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2002).
Section 227 of that amendment acknowledges the existence of Post-Abortion Stress Syndrome.
