I’m a new expectant mother at Lifeline Family Center, I am 19 years old and I am four months pregnant. I was born in Miami, Florida. Before coming to Lifeline Family Center, my life consisted of always running from my problems and not wanting to get help from the people that actually cared about me. My whole life I wanted to do things my way, which ended me up in an abusive relationship for 3 years. Then I found I was pregnant. I knew then I needed to buckle down and do better for my child and myself. I researched homes for pregnant young mothers and came across Lifeline Family Center. I applied and got accepted in 3 weeks, but it didn’t last long. I ended up leaving Lifeline after only being there for two weeks because, of course, I wanted to run and do things on my own. I realized that doing things on my own was not getting me anywhere besides running the streets and being pregnant. Two weeks later I came back to Lifeline where I was welcomed by all the staff members again. Mrs. Kathy as well as other staff members gave me a second chance to change my life around. Being at Lifeline I hope to accomplish numerous things including: start the nursing program at the technical college and complete it, get close to God, parent my child the right way through the help  of Lifeline, and graduate from Lifeline Family Center.
