I gave birth to my first son Zayden on March 31, 2015 and had a hard time supporting him financially. I ended up homeless with Zayden and started dating this guy who was helping me provide for him.  We dated for a few months then I found out I was pregnant again and the guy I was dating turned out to be an abusive person.  We broke up and I was now homeless with an infant and pregnant.  The first thing I wanted to do was get an abortion because I could not care for this new baby on my own.  Then I found out about Lifeline Family Center while I was searching on the internet  for doctors who would perform the abortion. I applied and was accepted to Lifeline within a few months of being pregnant. When I came to Lifeline on December 3, 2015 I felt welcomed by Mrs. Peggy and other staff members.
At first, getting accustomed to this was hard for me. It was especially hard giving up my phone and secular music but I did it anyway. My son was accepted and cared for in the nursery and I can tell that he loves Ms. Glenda, Ms. Carol, and all the nursery volunteers. Zayden is excited in the mornings to go to School.  Throughout my pregnancy I felt lots of pain just as most women have but my house parents, Ms. Mary and Mr. Kevin, always did everything they could to make me feel better and I am very thankful for them. I gave birth to my second son Austin on May 23, 2016 and I instantly fell in love with him. I chose to give Austin to his father’s side of the family so he could be properly cared for. Now I am caring for my 16 month old Zayden and will be starting school in August. I also will be gaining my citizenship and my driver’s license. I believe that God sent me to Lifeline to save not only Austin’s life but to also save me and Zayden. I thank the Lord our Father for pointing me in the right direction which is Lifeline Family Center.
